Question by Questionqueen: What is a creative Black History Mathematics Project to assign?

I am an 8th grade Mathematics teacher who is trying to give a Black History month project. Our school is doing a big "festival" of sorts and each homeroom is required to present something. I was thinking of giving some sort of project to each of my students to begin with.

Any ideas on something each student could do and then something we could do as a class? We are not allowed to do anything with dancing. I have 15 students. I really wanted to tie in Mathematics if I could.
